How does the initial call work?
It’s a 30min phone call, pre arranged following your first contact email. The call is free with no obligation to book a session. You can ask questions about me and how I work. I will ask you questions to understand what you want from therapy. It’s important that we discover if we are the right fit and if that happens I will let you know what days and time I have available for your first session.
How long is each session and how often will I have them?
I offer 50 min sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 8am-8pm. Regular weekly sessions create a consistency and provide a secure and reliable relationship crucial for good therapy. However I understand life can be unpredictable so there is some flexibility.
What is expected of me and how many sessions will I need?
Most importantly turning up on time consistently each week.
Beyond that having the courage to look inside and share your thoughts even when it gets uncomfortable, I will be alongside to support you.
The number of sessions is up to you, After 6 weeks I will check in to see how things are going for you and make sure we are still working towards your goals.
Will our sessions be confidential?
Yes, confidentiality builds trust and is essential for effective therapy.
There are certain limitations, if I am concerned about:
- Harm to yourself or another person
- Proposed act of terrorism or other specific illegal act
- Or if Courts instruct that I give information
The sharing of any information is discussed with the client to ensure the process is transparent.
All counsellors are required to have clinical supervision. Client work is discussed with an experienced therapist to ensure effective and safe practice. This supervision is confidential and supervisors work in accordance with professional ethical frameworks.
How much do sessions cost?
All sessions are £60 per session. I offer a rate of £50 per session if the first 6 sessions are booked and paid for in advance.
How do I pay for sessions?
Payment by BACs before the start of each session.
I send a written contract once we decide to work together, it contains much of the information from this page plus my bank details.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?
Cancellations and rescheduling can be made up to 48 hours before a session. Cancellations within 48 hours will incur the fees, but I will try and reschedule the session within that week.
