About me and my counselling technique

Raising a family and a life time of coping with the ups and downs of living has shaped my style of counselling.

My practice is both:

Humanistic:

It is my belief that providing you with a supportive and confidential space for conversation, will give you the capacity to take a fresh look at your own thoughts and make choices to find new meaning in your life.

Psychodynamic:

It is my belief that who you are now and your personal narrative stems from your
childhood environment. Exploring the past enables you to understand present day feelings, emotional reactions and current relationships.

One size does not fit all and as our relationship develops I tailor my approach to your unique needs.

I qualified as an integrated counsellor, studying various different counselling techniques, at IronMill College with further training in:

  • Understanding ADHD
  • Bereavement, grief and loss
  • Flash Technique for anxiety

I offer counselling sessions by various different methods:

  • Online on Google Meet
  • Face to face from my studio at Launceston Farm, DT11 8BY: (What3words -brightens.saved.reversed)
  • Walk and Talk, introducing nature and the environment into the process
  • Equine facilitated therapy, a gentle and relaxed process for those who struggle with human connection
